Liverpool’s Senegalese forward Sadio Mane led the Reds to a crucial win against Fulham on Sunday, taking them to the top of the Premier League standings.

The 26-year-old opened the scoring in the 26th minute, and contributed to his side’s second of the game, which gave them a 2-1 win against the relegation-threatened side.

The Reds seemed to have lost their chance to topple Manchester City at the top of the table when former player Ryan Babel intercepted a Virgil van Dijk header back to keeper Alisson Becker to level the score with 15 minutes to go.

The Reds however held their nerves and were rewarded with a second goal courtesy of a James Milner spot kick after Mane had been fouled.

Liverpool are now top of the table with 76 points, two ahead of defending Champions Manchester City who have a game in hand.
