Rwanda celebrates first Cultural Day in the US

Rwandan President Kagame graced the first Rwanda Cultural Day in the US with thousands of Rwandans living in Rwanda and abroad joining in the celebrations in San Francisco, California in honour of the country’s cultural heritage.

The Rwanda Cultural Day creates an opportunity for Rwandans to celebrate their unique culture and its role in transforming the country.

During the celebrations President Kagame said that culture is the common thread that runs through the society and brings people together.

More than 2000 people attended the event, including those coming from Europe, Asia, Africa, as well as from many corners of the United States of America.

“Through various activities organized during the Rwanda Cultural Day, participants will learn about the values that unite Rwandans and the homegrown solutions inspired by Rwanda’s culture that have become an integral part of solving the country’s challenges ranging from justice and reconciliation, poverty reduction and accountable governance.” Says Rwanda Day organization
