Robot kills worker at car production plant in Germany

Robots have always been seen to be helpful, performing tasks that can also be done by humans.
But for the investors of the machine, the idea was that Robots would help around , shops, factories, malls and reduce the cost of labor.
There have been fears that Robots will one day be able to completely perform human duties forcing human labor to be completely done away with in some way taking over the labor force.
But the fear remains to be seen reality.
Now one incident relating to Robots working at a factory has been reported in Germany.
A contractor at one of car manufacturer, Volkswagen’s production plant in Germany, has been killed by a robot, the the automaker has said.
The man is said to have died on Monday at the plant in Baunatal, about 100km (62 miles) north of Frankfurt.
The man a 22-year-old is reported to have been was part of a team that was setting up the stationary robot when it grabbed and crushed him against a metal plate.
Sources say initial conclusions indicate that human error was to blame, rather than a problem with the robot, which can be programmed to perform various tasks in the assembly process.
The robot normally operates within a confined area at the plant, grabbing auto parts and manipulating them.
Another contractor was present when the incident occurred, but was not harmed.An investigation has been launched in to the incident.
German news agency DPA reported that prosecutors were considering whether to bring charges, and if so, against whom.
