South African vice president and leader of the ruling ANC party Cyril Ramaphosa on Saturday said his country is open for investment.
Ramaphosa who won the race to succeed President Jacob Zuma at the helm of the ANC party said he aimed to offer policy certainty as South Africa seeks to increase its economic growth and eradicate poverty.
“South Africa is open for investment and we invite all investors from all over the world to come to South Africa to invest in our country so that we can grow our economy, create jobs, end poverty,” Ramaphosa told thousands of ANC members packed into a stadium in East London.
The 65-year-old beat former African Union Commission chairperson Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma in the ANC presidential election. He is now poised to run for the South African presidency in the 2019 general polls, with analysts projecting a win for him.
