The Chinese embassy in Kenya on Friday held a briefing ahead of the 2018 FOCAC summit scheduled to take place in Beijing in September.

The Chinese ambassador to the East African country, Sun Baohong, said Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta – who is expected to travel to the Chinese capital for the Summit – will hold bilateral talks with President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the Forum.

Kenyatta is among tens of African heads of state who are expected to attend the Summit, where relations between the continent and China will be discussed at length.

The 2018 FOCAC Summit will be held under the theme “China and Africa: Toward an Even Stronger Community with a Shared Future through Win-Win Co-operation.”
