Presidents converge in Addis Ababa for 30th AU Summit

The 30th African Union Summit is currently underway in Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa.

This year’s theme is Winning the fight against corruption: A sustainable path to Africa’s Transformation.

Corruption is a thorny issue that has affected the entire continent over the years.

The continent loses billions of dollars each year to the vice, directly affecting service delivery in many sectors.

In the 2018 Summit however, leaders will also be tackling conflicts on the continent, terrorism, food security.

Various Presidents from across the continent have arrived in  Addis Ababa, with others still expected to make their way there.

Among those already in the Ethiopian capital are Uhuru Kenyatta (Kenya), Jacob Zuma (South Africa), Muhammadu Buhari (Nigeria), Paul Kagame (Rwanda), Yoweri Museveni (Uganda), Abdel Fattah al-Sisi (Egypt), Hage Geingob (Namibia) among others.
