President Xi Jinping encourages Chinese companies to invest in large scale projects in Egypt

Chinese government has encouraged and is supporting enterprises to invest in large scale projects in Egypt according to President Xi Jinping who speaking at a hotel in down town Cairo after meeting with Egyptian Prime Minister Sherif Ismail.
“My visit to Egypt is to cement and deepen the China-Egypt relationship in an all-round way and advance practical cooperation between our two nations for new achievement,” said President Xi Jinping
The President arrived on Wednesday for a two day state visit at the invitation of the Egyptian President El Sisi.
President Xi proposed that both countries should make more efforts towards linking their development strategies and set up cooperation within the frame work of the Belt and Road Initiative. He added that establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2014 lifted the bilateral ties to new levels.
The President also suggested that the two countries promote exchanges between their youths and encourage more tourists to visit each other’s country.
Prime Minister Sherif Ismail said Egypt supports the Belt and Road Initiative by China and it will be involved actively, becoming a corridor that will connect trade between China and Europe.
President Xi and the Prime Minister visited a China Science and Technology Exhibition after their meeting. 15 Chinese enterprises participated in the exhibition.
President Xi met with 10 people awarded for their outstanding contribution to China – Egypt friendship.
