President Nkurunziza responds to coup reports on social media

After a  senior Burundi army officer said on Wednesday he was dismissing Pierre Nkurunziza as president, hence leading to a coup,  President Pierre Nkurunziza took to social media to state the following:

Translation: 

It is with regret that we learned that a group of soldiers mutinied this morning and made ​​a visionary statement coup. The Presidency of the Republic announced the national and international opinion that this attempted coup was foiled and that these people, who read this news coup via private local radio stations, are sought by defense and security forces so that they are brought to justice. The Presidency of the Republic asks the Burundian population and foreigners living in Burundi to keep the peace and serenity. Everything is implemented so that security throughout the national territory is maintained.
