President Kenyatta: We will not surrender to extremism

Read < 1 minute

Kenya’s president Uhuru Kenyatta has paid tribute to the Kenyan troops killed in Friday’s attack on an African Union base in neighbouring Somalia.

Al-Shabaab claims it killed at least 63 soldiers in the attack that started early on Friday in the town of El-Ade, in southwestern Somalia, not far from the Kenyan border.

Speaking on Friday in the coastal city of Mombasa, Kenyatta said his country and compatriots would not surrender to extremism.
