Zanzibar’s incumbent President Dr. Ali Mohamed Shein has won the presidential election re-run boycotted by the opposition.

Chama Cha Mapinduzi’s, Ali  got 299,982 votes.

The results from last October’s poll were annulled as the electoral commission said there were irregularities.

The opposition urged people to boycott Sunday’s vote.
