Preparations for Zambia elections under way amid tensions, unrest
Zambia is preparing for its second presidential election less than two years.
The vote last time was triggered by the death of President Michael Sata. His successor Edgar Lungu is confident of staying in power…but again he’s facing a strong challenge from arch-rival, Hakainde Hichilema.
Ahead of the August 11th vote, there’s already been violence. And electoral officials fear the legitimacy of the election could be threatened.
CCTV’s Farai Mwakutuya is in the capital Lusaka, and filed this report.
