Polio vaccination campaign underway after new cases diagnosed

Read < 1 minute

Polio has flared up in Nigeria again.

The disease can paralyse children within hours and often kills them. Health officials thought polio had been eradicated in the country, but new cases have emerged recently. An emergency campaign is now under way to vaccinate millions of young people. Ground Zero is in Borno, in the country’s north-east.

CCTV’s Kelechi Emekelam is there – and has this exclusive report.
