Policemen killed in a terrorist attack in Kenya
At least five policemen were killed in Kenya after their truck was hit with an improvised explosive device planted on the road in the coastal county of Lamu.
The attack is believed to be the latest in the series of attack near the Kenya’s border with Somalia. Al Shabaab took responsibility of the attack claiming to have killed eight Kenyan soldiers.
“The truck had about 10 administration police officers and the explosive that blew it up seemed to have been planted on the road they were using,” a senior regional official, who asked not to be named, told Reuters.
The attack comes less than two weeks after the Al Shabaab attacked a military camp housing Kenyan soldiers who are part of the African Union (AU) force in the country.
