Police order male teachers at Moi Girls School to take DNA test
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations ordered all male employees at Moi Girls School in Nairobi to undergo a DNA test. The results of the tests will help determine whether any of the men are linked to a possible rape on campus.
Students say three men entered the hostel and sexually assaulted a girl on Saturday. Two other girls managed to escape.
Moi Girls High School remains closed indefinitely as investigators look into the incident but that didn’t stop dozens of people, including parents of students at the school, from demonstrating outside the school Monday.
The want the perpetrators of the crime brought to justice.
Police say they’re also considering the possibility that the suspects are not teachers but outsiders who managed to break into the school.

The incident has already prompted the Education Ministry to conduct a review of school’s security to avert any possibilities of break-ins.
On Monday, the Council of Governors condemned the incident and urged the national government to take the matter seriously. Council Chairman Josphat Nanok said the county bosses empathise with the victims and the school community over the incident.
“It is the council view that children should be safe at all times especially when they are in school,” Mr Nanok said when he delivered the State of Devolution address in Nairobi.
Director of Public Prosecutions, Noordin Hajj also strongly condemned the incident and vowed to ensure expeditious investigations are conducted.
The incident, which has once again thrust to the limelight what was once a very popular school, comes just eight months after a fatal fire started by one of the students killed 10 girls dead and left several other severely burned.
