Over 2 million Tunisian students return to schools amid COVID-19

Over 2 million Tunisian students returned to schools on Tuesday, as schools reopened in Tunisia after a closure of six months due to the spread of COVID-19.

Tunisian Minister of Education Fethi Sellaouti said preventive measures have been taken in educational establishments, training centers and places of residence.

The start of the school year has been postponed for a week in certain regions in the country given the situation of the pandemic.

Tunisia recorded on Monday 747 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of the infected to 7,382. A total of 2,175 patients have recovered from the virus while 117 others have died so far, according to the latest epidemiological report released by the Tunisian Ministry of Health.
