Number of jobless youth in South Africa climbing steadily

Unemployment levels in in South Africa have doubled in the last 20 years.

Despite the onset of a proper democracy and better access to education, South Africa hasn’t managed to end its youth unemployment crisis, with youth unemployment at 39.2%.

While the majority of the country’s black population gained freedom after the abolishment of apartheid, for many of them economic freedom is yet to come.
