Nine members of a musical band drowned on Saturday when a boat they were travelling in capsized in the Kenyan waters of Lake Victoria.
The nine were part of a musical band that was headed to an evening performance when the boat capsized just 20 minutes away from the shore.
“The boast was overloaded because it was also carrying heavy music equipment,” regional deputy commissioner Angeline Were said. “We rescued eight people and shall start a search for the nine.”
