Nigerian oil tycoon heir holds a lavish wedding at Churchill’s Blenheim Palace

The son of a Nigerian oil tycoon, Folarin Alakija, got hitched to Nazanin Jafarian Ghaissarifar, an Iranian model, at Blenheim Palace in the UK. The lavish event included a 12ft wedding cake and a performance by the pop star Robin Thicke, reports the SUN.

The groom’s mother, Folorunsho Alakija, 66, has an estimated fortune of $2.0 billion and has been ranked as the 14th richest person in Africa by Forbes. She was placed 80th on the global Power Women list and in 2014 overtook Oprah Winfrey, the American chat show host, as the richest woman of African descent according to AU.

Folarin Alakija, father-of-one, who sadly lost his first wife Chena to cancer, didn’t spare any costs for his second chance at love with a lavish wedding estimated to have cost $6,357,000 to cater for the massive 12 ft cake,  one million roses, performance by American pop star  Robin Thicke and star-studded guests, including Victoria’s Secret Angel, Shanina Shaik.

Jeff, who has worked for Madonna and the Kardashians, bought 30 members of staff to help him organise the displays and he is believed to charge upwards of $ 418,000 for his services.

The evening event planned by Sade Awe of The Bridal Circle, who specializes in luxury weddings, ended in an awe-inspiring firework display in the hotel grounds.

Folarin Alakija is an entrepreneur, investor and cinematographer got engaged last year and had a traditional Nigerian wedding in Lagos in November according to the Premium Times.
