Nigerian Federal high court annulled the election of the governor of Abia State in the south eastern part of Nigeria for submitting false information to his political party during the 2014 elections reports local media.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu was ordered to vacate his office immediately by the court. The court further ordered the Independent National electoral commission to immediately allow the plaintiff, Uche Ogah, who got the second highest numbers of votes during the elections to take up the office by issuing him with the certificate of return.

The court ruled that the plaintiff should be sworn in since the Dr. Ikpeazu was never qualified to run in the elections on the account of fake tax returns.
