Read < 1 minute

There is some much-needed positive news now from Nigeria’s north-east!

Schools in the hard-hit Borno region are due to reopen – after more than two years of forced closure. Territory has been recovered, abductees have been released, and normalcy has slowly returned. The Nigerian military even claims to have killed some of the sect’s top commanders.

Public secondary schools which were closed two years ago because of the fighting will be re-opened next week.

CCTV’s Kelechi Emekalam has that story.
