Nigeria’s under 17 football team is the first team to make it through to the semi-final of the ongoing FIFA U17 World Cup in Chile after thrashing Brazil, one of the tournament’s favourites, 3-0 on Sunday.

The Golden Eaglets got the job done in just five minutes in the first half when they put three successive goals past a shocked Brazil side.

Victor Oshimen opened the scoring in the 29th minute, his eighth goal of the tournament.

Kingsley Micheal doubled the Africans lead just moments later with an impressive volley before Udochukwu Anumudu put the icing on the cake with a delightful long-range effort in the 34th minute.

Brazil looked to recover from the shock and went out all guns blazing in search for the goal that would reignite their hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals but the spirited Nigerians stood their ground and ran away with a deserved win.

The Eaglets will play the winner from tomorrow’s quarter-final clash between Ecuador and Mexico.

Nigeria has never lost a semi-final match in the history of the FIFA U17 World Cup.
