The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) in a tweet sent on Monday confirmed Nigeria’s first death from COVID-19.
The patient was a 67 year old man who had returned to the country after a medical procedure in the United Kingdom with underlying medical conditions.
He had multiple myeloma and diabetes and was undergoing chemotherapy, the NCDC said in a statement.
