The National Basketball Association (NBA) on Wednesday suspended its season until further notice after Utah Jazz player Rudy Gobert tested positive for the coronavirus.

The NBA did not disclose any further details about the player, who it said was not present for a game on Wednesday. The NBA added that the test result was reported before the match started.

As a result, the NBA said that the game between Utah Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder at Chespeake Energy Arena was cancelled.

“The NBA will use this hiatus to determine next steps for moving forward in regard to the coronavirus pandemic,” a statement said.
