Naby Keita will miss Liverpool’s game against Arsenal at Anfield on Saturday as he continues his recovery from a muscle strain.

“Naby Keita remains unavailable for the Reds as he continues to recover from a muscle strain,” Liverpool tweeted on Friday.

The injury forced the Guinean midfielder to miss Liverpool’s last two games, the UEFA Super Cup clash against Chelsea and last week’s Premier League win against Southampton.

Manager Jürgen Klopp said last week that he was not sure how long the midfielder would take to recover.

Keita’s injury was scheduled to be examined further by the medical team.

At the same time, Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker may be on the sidelines longer with Klopp also unsure of when he will return to action.

Alisson, Liverpool’s first-choice keeper, suffered a calf injury during the 4-1 home win against Norwich on August 9.

“(Alisson is) not that close, but nobody told me that I have to consider him for tomorrow in training or the game,” Liverpool’s official website quoted Klopp.

“I had lunch with him today, so at least he can eat! He looks good, he is in good shape, a good mood, but it will take time, I don’t know exactly,” Klopp added.

Liverpool have been unable to keep a clean sheet since Alisson’s injury with replacement Adrian causing jitters following his howler against Southampton last week.

“I think from now on it (Alisson’s recovery) will go quick, but how quick I don’t know,” Klopp said.
