Read < 1 minute
Dozens of Muslim Brotherhood supporters, mostly women, staged three marches in Alexandria early Monday morning to commemorate the January 25 Revolution.  The three marches kicked off from al-Raml, al-Amreya and Borg al-Arab areas. They raised images for toppled President Mohamed Morsi, the Rabaa sign, and yellow balloons. They chanted slogans against the armed forces and the police and demanded the release of detainees.

Earlier dozens of supporters of the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood blocked a main road in Bahtim, Qalyubiya early Monday, burning car tires before fleeing away, according to the province’s security department.

Egypt’s security services have been placed on high alert for potential anti-government protests marking the fifth anniversary of the 2011 uprising that toppled former President Hosni Mubarak.
