Museveni confuses Israel with Palestine while welcoming Israeli PM, Twitter reacts

Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni has today stirred action from his country’s Twitter users after he repeatedly confused Israel and Palestine in his speech welcoming Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to his country.

Museveni kept referring to Israel as Palestine right in front of Netanyahu who is on a four-nation tour of Africa.

Netanyahu was accompanied by some of the soldiers and pilots who were part of the team sent by his country to conduct a raid on Uganda’s Entebbe airport 40 years ago to rescue passengers, mainly Israelis,  that had been held hostage by terrorists.

Netanyahu is also scheduled to visit Kenya, Rwanda and Ethiopia.
