Moroccan winger Hakim Ziyech ended his week on a high after he scored for a second consecutive game for Chelsea who defeated Burnley 3-0 in the English Premier League.
Ziyech opened the scoring in the 26th minute beating Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope after being set up by Tammy Abraham.
Kurt Zouma powered in a header from Mason Mount’s corner kick in the 63rd minute to double the London side’s lead.
Ziyech then added a flourish to his first league start when he turned provider for Timo Werner to seal the win seven minutes later. Ziyech was then substituted three minutes later for Callum Hudson-Odoi.
The win saw Chelsea climb up to fourth in the table on 12 points, one behind Everton, Liverpool and Wolves respectively.
The 27-year-old hit some milestones with his impressive performance at Turf Moor. He became the first Chelsea player to score in his first two starts for the club since Diego Costa in August 2014. Ziyech had also started and scored in Chelsea’s 4-0 win against Krasnodar in the Champions League in midweek.
He also became the third African player, after Dame N’Doye and Mohamed Salah, to score and assist on his first Premier League start.
