Morocco to complete constructing a grand theater by 2019 in Rabat, reports Morocco World News.
The Grand Theater is expected to have a large multi-purpose room with over 1,822 seats and accommodations for different types of shows, explained project manager Lotfi Benchekroun.
“The theater also has a small modular room, which has 127 seats, a restaurant with panoramic views, shops, cafes and a bookstore,” added Benchekroun.
The theater’s design is done by the famous late British architect of Iraqi origin Zaha Hadid, known for her avant-garde designs and prestigious architectural works.
The construction is at 40 percent currently. It is part of the Bouregreg Valley Development Program, launched by King Mohammed VI in January 2006. The development plan has various facilities on 6000 hectares. The facilities include the Grand Theater of Rabat, the Heritage House, the Museum of Archeology, the House of Music and Performing Arts, skate parks, and swimming pools.
