Mohamed Salah caps incredible season with new record and Golden Boot
Liverpool’s Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah on Saturday broke a long-standing Premier League goals scoring record by netting his 32nd goal of this season.
The 25-year old scored against Brighton and Hove Albion on the last day of the season, surpassing the record jointly held by Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Suarez and Alan Shearer.
Shearer set the record at 31 in the 1995/96 season, with Ronaldo and Suarez equalling it in the 2007/08 and 2013/14 seasons respectively.

Salah’s record-setting goal meant he finished the season as the Premier League’s top scorer, adding the Golden Boot onto his already impressive display of awards this season.
Before Saturday’s game, Salah was named the EA Sports FIFA Player of the Season.
Liverpool won the game 4-0 to ensure they qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Following the breaking of the record, Shearer swiftly took to Twitter to congratulate the Egyptian.
Congratulations @MoSalah on the new goal-scoring record. I enjoyed it while it lasted! 🙋🏼♂️ @premierleague #PLrecord

Congrats @MoSalah – most goals (32) ever scored in a 38-game Premier League season. This making him officially better than @Cristiano was at United. I rest my case. pic.twitter.com/zEPw8lJdbx

Who would have thought one Mo Salah would be the one to break the Premier League record? No one saw this coming.
