Millions of Internally Displaced persons in north east Nigeria remain apprehensive about returning to their original homes even after the government announced it has defeated Boko haram.

The insurgents still continue to stage some key attacks while the government announced switch of focus from offensive to recovery.

Bama Town, for instance, was one of those captured by Boko Haram. Although it has been reclaimed by the military, much of the infrastructure has been destroyed and safety too is gamble.

Boko Haram has been staging some attacks in the territories the military claimed to have recaptured and being the basis of dilemma to IDPs intending to return home.

More than 2million people have had to flee from their homes since the insurgency began in 2009.

Military authorities have recovered much of the territories overrun by Boko Haram.

But it’s uncertain how much longer that would take for the IDPs to resume normal life in their original homes.
