Manchester City seek to topple Liverpool from Premier League top stop

Current Premier League champions Manchester City have a chance to leapfrog Liverpool into top spot tonight, as they face Everton FC in a match brought forward.

The Citizens will climb into first place on goal difference should they win the match, but will have played one game more than Liverpool.

Pep Guardiola’s men will go into the game tonight on the back of a convincing 3-1 win against Arsenal, while Everton lost their last game with a similar margin against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Two consecutive draw by Liverpool have meant the Manchester side has closed the gap at the top, and sets the stage for an interesting race for the title.

Ahead of the game tonight, Guardiola said the title’s destination may not be decided until the very last fixture.

“Yeah, I’m pretty sure the winner will be in the last fixture or last two,” he said.
