Man United transfer report: Van Gaal says ‘no’ to permanent Falcao deal

Read < 1 minute

The Colombia international is currently on a season-long loan at Old Trafford, but he has struggled to hit his usual goalscoring heights.

The 29-year-old has managed just four goals for Van Gaal’s side all season.

The deal to sign Falcao on loan last September offered Manchester United the option to bring the striker in permanently in this summer for £43.5m.

But – according to L’Equipe – United have pulled out of a permanent move for the Monaco man.

The French newspaper claims that the Premier League side finalised the decision after Falcao drew a blank against League One opponents Preston in the FA Cup.
