A South African lodge that only accepts white people only to be charged with discrimination and to have license revoked reports local media.
Sodwana Bay Guest House owner Andre Slade who does not take bookings from black people and government employees will face charges of racism, tax evasion and illegal business operation.
KwaZulu-Natal economic development and tourism MEC Sihle Zikalala made a statement to the police on Wednesday and called for strong action to be taken against the owner.
“We are going to suspend his operation. We are also engaging … that he should be evicted from area. Thirdly‚ we are going to open a case of racial of discrimination; wherever he goes in SA‚ he must be dealt with. We are not going to tolerate this type of behaviour‚” said Zikalala.
The guest house is said to be operating without a legal licence and therefore been evading tax. The South African Revenue will be investigating into the tax issues.
Guest house owner, Andre Slade insists that he is not racist‚ but claimed at the same time that “God’s word” said whites were superior to blacks’ to a crowd of 2000 strong of African National Congress,Youth League members and supporters that gathered at the lodge on Wednesday reports Times Live.
