Liverpool tries to ease fears over Sadio Mane injury

Liverpool assistant manager Pepijn Lijnders downplayed speculation that Senegalese forward Sadio Mane suffered a potentially serious injury during the 2-1 win against Chelsea on Sunday.
Mane was substituted in the 71st minute of the game at Stamford Bridge with manager Jürgen Klopp saying afterward that it was a “knock on the bone, around the knee, and a dead leg”.
“Sadio has a knock, of course, but he looks good,” he said. “With having today off and having treatment tomorrow, I think on Thursday he will be back in training again, so that looks all good,” Lijnders said.
Liverpool is in Carabao Cup action against League One side MK Dons on Wednesday evening, a game Mane is likely to miss out on.
The Reds will then face Sheffield United in the early game in the Premier League on Saturday.
