A Libyan military plane crashed in Tunisia south of the capital early on Friday morning. The plane was carrying patients to Tunicia for medical care.  Officials have reported the death of an Islamist Libyan government official, 10 passengers and crew.

The plane crashed near a farmland in Grombalia, south of the country’s capital Tunis.

The cause of the crash is said to be an engine failure.

This is the second millitary plane crash in North Africa in two weeks.  An Algerian military plane crashed into a mountain killing 77 people on February 11th.
