Libya’s unity government has proposed its cabinet a month after the North African country’s rival factions agreed to work together.
The United Nations (UN) brokered deal to form a national unity government, signed in Morocco last month, is aimed at healing the nation that has been split by more than four years of conflict following the overthrow of long-serving leader Muammar Gaddafi.
UN envoy Martin Kolber went to Twitter to congratulate the politicians on their progress and called on the country’s two rival parliaments to endorse the unity government.
According to the AFP news agency, less than half of the MPs have signed up to the deal.
