Keshi returns in two year deal as Super Eagles coach

Read < 1 minute

2013 Africa cup of nations winning coach Stephen Keshi is back at the helm of the national team after signing a two year contract on Tuesday.

This is the 53 year old’s third stint in charge. Keshi’s first spell saw him deliver the African trophy to Nigeria but his contract wasn’t renewed after the 2014 FIFA world cup. He then went on to work with the Super Eagles on a match by match basis during the teams campaign for the 2015 cup of nations.

Keshi who also won the cup of nations as Captain of the Super Eagles is expected to meet targets set by the NFF even as long serving assistant Daniel Amokachi leaves his technical team. Salisu Yusuf will now work as Keshi’s assistant. Keshi has had a rough ride in his previous stint incharge but fans can only hope that this time round his tenure would be filled with positive stories from the pitch rather than boardroom wars.
