
Kenya’s President Kenyatta heads to Jamaica

Kenya’s head of state is among the many leaders attending Jamaica Independence Day celebrations on Tuesday.
President Uhuru Kenyatta left Kenya early Monday. In addition to the festivities, he’s expected to discuss multilateral cooperation with his host, Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness.
Foreign Affairs staff based at Kenya’s mission in Kingston led by Ambassador Anthony Muchiri met Monday morning to finalize preparations for Mr. Kenyatta’s state visit.
Uhuru and Holness are expected to conclude talks on and sign trade agreements.
Kenya is seeking to export coffee and tea to the Caribbean country which seeks to sell peanuts to its counterpart in the deals.
Government ministers from the two countries are also expected to sign an agreement on an exchange of athletics coaches.
