Kenya’s Interior Minister calls for unity in fight against terrorism

Read < 1 minute

Kenya’s interior cabinet minister has hailed the move by Muslims to shield fellow Christians in a bus attack on Monday.

Joseph Nkaissery also assured citizens and foreigners visiting the country of their safety.

He says the government has made significant strides in security.

On Monday, suspected Al-Shabaab militants attacked a bus in the Northeast of the country, killing at least three people.

The attackers had demanded the Muslim passengers separate themselves from the Christians in order to attack them.

The Muslims instead, defied the orders.

In 2014, al-Shabaab gunmen stormed a bus in the same area, killing 28 non-Muslim passengers.
