Kenya’s COVID-19 cases rise to 435 as 24 more test positive
Kenya’s Covid-19 cases have risen to 435 after 24 more people tested positive for the virus, the country’s Ministry of Health announced Saturday.
This is the highest number of coronavirus infections in a single day since the first case was confirmed on March 13.

Health Chief Administrative Secretary Mercy Mwangangi (CAS) made the announcement saying the 24 tested positive after testing of 1,195 samples in the last 24 hours.
The CAS also announced that one more person had died in Mombasa, raising the country’s death toll to 22.
The ministry further reported that two more patients had been discharged, raising the total number of recoveries to 152.
The CAS also said that the country would use theGilead’s antiviral drug remdesivir for treatment on coronavirus patients after US regulators on Friday authorized its use.
US medical officials said evidence from a trial of the drug helped patients with serious cases of Covid-19 recover faster.
