Kenyan Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich and other top officials are expected to be arrested and charged with corruption in relation to the construction of two dams in Kenya.

Director of Public Prosecutions, Noordin Haji said Monday the dams scandal has cost taxpayers billions of shillings in dubious payments.

Other key officials include Principal Secretaries Kamau Thugge (Treasury), Dr Susan Jemutai Koech (East African Community) and Kerio Valley Development Authority (KVDA) Managing Director David Kimosop.

“After analyzing the evidence gathered by the Director of Criminal Investigations, I am satisfied that economic crimes were committed and I have therefore approved their arrests and prosecutions,” Haji told a news conference in Nairobi.
