
Kenyan students win big in 5th AVIC Tech Awards
Kenya’s Rift Valley Technical Training Institute and the Technical University of Kenya have emerged tops in the fifth season of the AVIC International Africa Technical Challenge.
The two have secured a manufacturing contract to supply spare parts to China worth 100,000 US Dollars.
Three top students also won cash prizes and scholarships to study in China during a colourful gala held in Nairobi on Thursday evening.
The Africa Tech Challenge is a youth empowerment project which aims to equip youth from various African states with technical skills.
Participants from Kenya, Zambia, Ghana, Gabon and Cote d’Ivoire took part in the competition.
