Kenyan President Kenyatta signs anti-doping bill

Read < 1 minute

Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday signed the long awaited anti-doping bill, a move which will likely help the country avoid sanctions from the World Anti-Doping Agency.

The law signed on Friday criminalizes doping in a move that will likely help the country avoid sanctions from WADA ahead of the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Kenyatta personally drove the law through parliament after Kenya missed two previous deadlines because of delays.

The Bill was then passed by the lawmakers on Tuesday and was sent to the President to be signed into law.
