Kenyan police have arrested 163 Pakistanis in the coastal city of Mombasa for being in the country illegally.

Local Daily Nation newspaper reports regional Police Commander Noah Mwivanda to say the Pakistanis were flushed out in a week-long operation, from which they were discovered to have fake work permits.

“Those arrested were found engaging in car sales business or working in the export processing zones (EPZ),” Mwivanda said.

Kenyan authorities have been hunting down foreigners living in the country without preper documentation.

Mwivanda said the Pakistanis are awaiting deportation to their country.
