It began with the Rwandese family who sued Boeing after their kin, Jackson Musoni, lost his life in the Ethiopian Airlines flight that crashed in early March, alleging that it defectively designed the automated flight control system.
Families of two Americans, including consumer activist Ralph Nader’s great niece, followed suit and sued Boeing over the same ill-fated flight.
Now, another family has also come out to sue the American giant for the flight that killed all 157 people on board.
The Kenyan family who lost their brother, 29 year-old George Kabau, said that they wanted to file a wrongful-death lawsuit against Boeing.
The family said they wanted to force the company to release documents and emails relating to its 737 MAX 8 model, which was grounded worldwide after two major planes crashed in Ethiopia and Indonesia.
A preliminary report released earlier this month indicated Ethiopian Airlines pilots wrestled with a computer system that repeatedly ordered the nose down because of faulty sensor data. The same system was a focus of the preliminary report into the October Lion Air crash in Indonesia, which killed 189 people.
Kenya had the largest number of citizens on the flight from Addis Ababa to Nairobi with least 32 Kenyans were on board.
