Kenya, Uganda Agree on Route for Oil Pipeline

Read < 1 minute

An agreement between Kenya and Uganda on a route for a crude oil pipeline is expected to accelerate the development of the region’s nascent oil sector. Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni and his Kenyan counterpart Uhuru Kenyatta have approved plans for the line, which will carry crude oil to the Kenyan coast for export, and refining.

As CCTV’s Isabel Nakirya reports, the pipeline is vital to attracting the international investment needed to start commercial oil production.
