Kenya is the best improved African country in the latest World FIFA ranking, moving up 43 places from position 129 to position 86.

Even though the East African country’s Harambee Stars fell short of qualifying for the 2017 African Cup of Nations (AFCON), the team managed to rake in points to push their global ranking up to an impressive 86.

Guinea Bissau is the second most improved nation in Africa after managing to move 40 places upwards. The country beat Kenya both home and away in their AFCON qualifier group matches.

Libya and Liberia also registered impressive improvements, moving up by 29 and 31 consecutively.

Malawi is the biggest loser, moving down by 26 places, while Madagascar also went down by 23 places.

West African football giant Nigeria continues to drop down the order, now standing at position 70, 9 places lower than the last ranking.

The world’s youngest nation South Sudan has managed to move up by four places, now standing at position 153.

South American side Argentina remains the leading country in the latest ranking, followed by Belgium and Colombia.
