Kenya Airways CEO Mbuvi Ngunze will be leaving the national carrier in the first quarter of 2017.
The selection of his successor is already under way, according to board chairperson Michael Joseph. The announcement comes amid pressure from the pilots’ association. It accused him of mismanagement, leaving the airline desperate for a government bailout. Kenya Airways management say they’re focusing on operational turnaround and financial stability going forward.
The airline’s half-year results show it had cut losses by about $400 million.
