Liverpool’s Guinean midfielder Naby Keita has been ruled out of his side’s Champions League clash with German giants Bayern Munich with a minor injury.

The Reds face a tough task against the Germans as both sides look to qualify for the quarter final stage of the continental club competition.

Keita did not attend Liverpool’s Tuesday training session and did not travel with the rest of the squad to Munich.

The Reds however have better news regarding other players as young defender Trent Alexander-Arnold could feature after shaking off an injury concern over the weekend.

Milner is also expected to be fit for selection as manager Jurgen Klopp seeks to guide his team into the last eight of the Champions League.

Meanwhile, Bayern will be without suspended pair Joshua Kimmich and Thomas Muller, though Colombian midfielder James Rodriguez is expected to feature.

Defender David Alaba and winger Kingsley Coman have also been ruled fit after overcoming injuries.

A win for either side will send them into the next stage, but a draw with goals will mean Liverpool progress. A 0-0 result will mean the teams play into extra-time to determine a winner.
