English football club Arsenal has made an appeal to its fans to give donations to help the children affected by the deadly drought in East Africa.

In a video published on its social media platforms, Arsenal, in collaboration with Arsenal Foundation and Save The Children, made a touching appeal that may help save the millions of children that are affected by hunger in the drought-hit region.

In the video, Arsenal’s Welsh Midfielder Aaron Ramsey cites the affected countries; Kenya, South Sudan, Ethiopia and Somalia, saying millions of children are still at risk of extreme hunger in them.

“Millions of children are at risk of extreme hunger in East Africa; in South Sudan, Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya. Our partners Save The Children are on the ground doing everything they can to help. With your support, they can do even more,” Ramsey says in the video.

“Join us in donating to Save The Children’s East Africa food crisis appeal now.”

According to the United Nations, more than 880,000 children in East Africa are severely malnourished and desperately need immediate life-saving food. Without this help, one in five of these children could die.

The agency says that in South Sudan alone, more than 270,000 children are already suffering from severe malnutrition.

It goes on to estimate that about 5.5 million children at huge risk in the region.
